Friends' Support in 2024

 $100,000 to help support and expand the  popular e-book and e-audiobook collection  countywide (Danville has the third highest usage in Contra Costa County)

 $20,000 to fund the purchase of new books, both fiction and nonfiction, for all ages 

 With the Danville Library Endowment, the Friends helped fund quicker, more secure phone charging options for library patrons with three new charging locker units (project funding will continue into 2025)

 Sponsored the Winter Wonderland, Halloween Haul, and Summer Celebration Activity Bags, filled with seasonal crafts, activity sheets, and fun surprises to continue to engage our youngest readers and encourage them to learn and explore independently or with their families beyond the library and schools 

 Supported Insiders Create in-person art sessions and activity bags to provide opportunities for teens and adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities to create and connect with one another in fun and creative ways

 Fostered engagement with Teen students through the Danville Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB), the largest in the county, to improve library service to teens, expand the Young Adult collection, and contribute to teen programming

 Purchased Summer Reading Prize Books to encourage and motivate children to continue to read throughout the summer months through the library's Summer Reading Program and avoid the "summer learning slide"

 Supported the annual Kidchella Summer Music & Reading Festival in partnership with the Town of Danville to celebrate the summer months and promote learning through music and stories

 Sponsored large family programs such as the Not-so-Scary Halloween Magic Show and Happy Bright Kids Puppet Show
